David currently resides in California and learned ice sculpting from his illustrious father, and veteran ice sculptor, Kim Phuong, in his hometown of Philadelphia, PA.  His father is the owner/operator of "Ice Illusions" in Philadelphia.  

David won his first ice sculpting competition at the age of 19 and quickly started an illustrious career of hiw own.  He moved ot San Francisco, CA, to pursue his art career and received a degree in Animation.  Blending animation with sculpture, David devoped a unique style contrary to most tradiotional ice sculptors.  He continue to push his artwork t hte limit by competing annually in national and international competitions around the world.  

Today David and his father are sculpting partners, David operates the San Fancisco branch of Ice Illusions and his father operates the Philadelphia location.
