Jim was born in the land of beer and cheese and soon there after moved to Atlanta, GA where he still lives today with his wife Lisa and two children Amanda and John.  Before our travel to Fairbanks, my sister told me and my daughter about the amateur ice carving division and with both of us being competitive- IT WAS ON- so that is what brought them to this cold competitio from the warm state of Georgia.
