Austin Greenleaf has always had a passion for the culinary arts and for competition. He attended Oregon Coast Culinary Institute in 2014 and graduated with his culinary arts degree in 2015. At the Institute, he discovered his passion for ice sculpting and grew this skill under the instruction of Chef Chris Foltz. He joined Chef Chris on many ice adventures including building ice bars in Vegas, and attending the Ice Carving World Championships in 2016. Here, he met Chris Swarbrick and built a relationship, which culminated in a move from the west coast out to Minnesota, where he has worked full time for Chris, harnessing his carving skills and continuing to improve at this new and exciting medium. He has had the incredible pleasure getting to compete alongside incredible artists such as Vitaly Lednov and Junichi Nakamura, and looks forward to future ice adventures, whether in the Ellsworth shop, or working with the blue diamondís up in Alaska.
