Sergei was captain of the 2013 Baikal team.

He is a Pediatrician by training with numerous talents in carpentry and masonry building Russian Hearths, fireplaces and barbeques; he also known as a journalist, musician and poet. Sergei is a master in speed wood carving; while advertising STIHL equipment he amuses spectators with wood carvings taking on new shapes in a very short time frame.

In 2011, Sergei initiated wood carving festival Lukomorie in Russia and holds a special prize from the festival. In Yekaterinburg, Sergei initiated “Live Tree” movement when wood carvers enhance a sick or broken tree into interesting shape so that next year the sculpted outline is surrounded with fresh sprouts.

Sergei competed in Baikal’s Chrystal Seal competition eight times and his prize for the victory in 2012 was an invitation to the World Ice Art Championships 2013 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Sergei has many children carrying on the Jewish tradition.
