Dorjnamjil Baatar was born in Darkhan, Mongolia. He has a wife, whom he met at the Fine Arts Institute, named Solongo who is also a professional artist and sculptor. He has been a sculptor since 1995. They have twins, 1 boy and 1 girl.

He has several awards in competitions such as: 1^st place finishes in the UB Ice Festival in Mongolia. The Harbin China ice and snow festival and 1^st place finishes in events throughout Finland.

He is also a wood sculptor and has earned awards in Russia for this medium.
