Ben is a resident of Anchor Point, Alaska, where he and his family have an art studio featuring the family's artwork. Ben is an artist who works with pencil, watercolor, sculpts antler and sculpts in bronze.

Ben and his wife, Melanie, received the bronze medal in the Single Block in 2000. Ben and teammates received the gold medal with Ben's designs in the Multi-Block abstract category in 2002 and 2003.
