Greetings to all friends of Ice Alaska. It's hard to believe that in just a few days it will be September 1st. Winter and the World Ice Carving Championship competition beginning next February 14th can't be too far behind.

On October 19th there will be a General Membership meeting, open to all who are interested. It will be a zoom meeting from the physical address at 1800 College Road in Fairbanks. At the meeting we will vote for new board of director positions. Six of the positions on the board are currently held by members who plan to run again. There are two open positions that need to be filled also. One of these needs to be an artist. The second one is open to any member of Ice Alaska. The only requirements are the desire to sit on the board and dues are paid. If you are interested in running for a board position, plese write a short biography introduing yourself and tell us why you would like to be on the board. The biographies must be submitted to me thrity days prior to the Membership Meeting. Dues must be paid five days prior to the meeting.

I hope everyone plans to volunteer at the 2022 Ice event. Nothing gets done by one person alone. Being part of a team helps form bonds with strangers that can be life changing. Volunteering will enrich your life as you meet new people and develop lasting relationships. It will increase your happines and it WILL help make a difference.
