The temperature was holding steady right around +40F with stormy skies overhead, and for a while we had a deluge!
A little bad weather doesn't stop the Hearty Alaskan! Volunteers gave up a few hours of their Friday evening, put on their rain gear, and spent some time with the Kids during the Fall Festival at the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds. At the festival were a number of food trucks, cake decorating, and other activities inside the Badger Hall, the merry-go-round. The Fair accomplished the hayride by wrapping the bales in plastic, and families stopped in to pick up their pumpkins. Ice Alaska brought in a large block of ice for the kids to get a feel for ice carving.
Who knows? Maybe we'll see some of these kids back as the next generation of Ice Artists!
