READY FOR SPRING BREAK?

Congratulations to all the great artists who participated in this year's World Ice Art Championships!  The exhibits are exquisit, and each reflects the style and vision of the individual teams and designers.  We certainly don't envy the task of the Jury who had to pick the top winners.  They're all winners!

We're not finished yet.  This week most of the Artists have returned to their homes and even some volunteers have taken a break.  Ice Alaska remains open, for your viewing pleasure.

NEXT WEEK, is Spring Break.  We have retained a few Professional Ice Carvers to mentor youth carvers and we will host the Youth Classic Ice Carving Event.  Space is limited and applications are available for download now.  You can also stop by the Ice Alaska Office in the Badger Building at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds.

What to bring when you visit Ice Alaska?  Most important is to dress for the weather.  Even if it's +25F outside, this is an ICE PARK, so the ambient air around the ice will be a little cooler.  Wear good boots, because the ground can be a little slippery, especially with kids and sleds running about.

Bring your Skates!  We have a nice large ice rink.  Don't have skates?  Stop by Play It Again Sports off Old Steese by the Wendel Street Bridge.  They rent skates by the day.

So, come on over, let's get outside and play!
