Hope everyone had an opportunity to enjoy our exceptionally warm weekend! Two consectutive days with the ambient temperatures above +40F (4C) really hit the park hard.
We have dedicated safety volunteers making the rounds each morning before opening and through out the day, to check and remove any potential dangers. The Slides, Maze, and Ice Rink are all still operational. Some of the smaller items in the front of the park have received heavy damage from direct sunlight.
We are pleased to see that the 'enchanted forest' of Ice is still holding up! The trees offer a natural shade, and the snow walls help insulate the ice and keep the exhibit area relatively cool to slow down melting.
This week we have a number of Youth Carvers working with the mentorship of some professional carvers to produce their works in the Youth Ice Classic.
If you haven't visited Ice Alaska yet, now's a good time, because we can't hold back the weather !
